Peacemaker Kurogane is a manga by Chrono Nanae and is a continuation of Shinsengumi Imon Peacemaker. In it, our little main character, a "chibi" by the name of Tetsu, strives to join the ranks of the Shinsengumi. He is driven by his desire to kill the one who murdered his parents, but as he is admitted, he begins to learn there is more than revenge. His childish and naive nature help him befriend a boy of similar age and status named Kitamura Suzu. Suzu's brother was killed by the Miburo (Shinsengumi) and he wishes to avenge his brother's death. Through a series of chance meetings, the two begin to make friends, only to have their friendship cut short by the fact that they are on opposite sides - Suzu lives to hunt Miburo heads and Tetsu lives to kill his parents' murderer, who has close ties with Suzu.
After many incidents (no spoilers here =p) the two end up being pitted against each other, but their friendship they both still hold strong. Whether you think these two deserve celebration for their friendship, their possible relationship, or any other possible ties, these two are undeniably fanlisting-worthy. :D
