The Tsuiokuhen is the story of the pre-wandering days of our beloved rurouni, Himura Kenshin. It is set during the Bakufu, a time of confusion and many killings. The Black Ships (brought by Commodore Matthew Perry) caused a panic all throughout Edo and many parts of Japan. They did not want a foreign rule, and many were eager to fight for the cause. One of them was a young, 14 year old boy called Kenshin...

Tsuiokuhen is a fanlisting for fans of the Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen OAV. The series Rurouni Kenshin has two OAVs, one called Tsuiokuhen, the other called Seishouhen. The Seishouhen is about Kenshin's life after the anime series, the Tsuiokuhen is about his life before the anime series. The Tsuiokuhen tells the story about how his life was while he was a Hitokiri (shadow assassin), his pain and anguish in having to take so many lives, and about his first love, Yukishiro Tomoe. It is a pretty angsty story with a very sad ending, but it sets the foundation for everything that happens in the anime and manga (the anime doesn't tell the Jinchuu arc, which wouldn't even be existant if the Tsuiokuhen didn't happen :D). While it is rather depressing and angsty with a heart-wrenching ending, it never fails to touch the hearts of all Tsuiokuhen fans every time we watch. Won't you join?
